Prisma Health's Patewood Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC, seeks an experienced obstetrics nurse to provide care for mothers and infants, educate families and coordinate discharge planning. The role requires an Associate degree in Nursing, an RN license, and at least two years in L&D or Mom/Baby, with IBCLC to be obtained within 18 months.

A CLC is preferred. You will work day shift, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and serve as a clinical resource for patients, families and staff

Formación

• Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Two years of L&D, Mom/Baby, lactation, or related nursing experience.
• Current RN license recognized in SC or multistate compact.
• IBCLC required within 18 months; CLC preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assesses obstetrical, newborn or breastfeeding patient needs.
• Provides education/consultation to patients, families, staff and community.
• Identifies care improvement opportunities based on assessments.
• Develops and revises evidence-based nursing policies and protocols.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to facilitate discharges.
• Serves as resource/educator/consultant for patients and staff.
• Evaluates new products/tools using best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides care for obstetrical and infant patients though education/consultation. Functions as a resource for patients, families, staff and community.

Essential Functions

• All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
• Assesses the physical, educational and discharge needs of obstetrical, newborn or breastfeeding patients.
• Based on patient assessments and trends, identifies opportunities to improve the care of mothers, infants and children in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
• Develops and revises evidence-based nursing policy, procedures, standards of care, protocols and preprinted orders.
• Provides evidence-based nursing care for mothers and infants through consultation directly with the patient or the telephone helpline.
• Collaborates with other health care professionals to identify cost effective alternatives and facilitate discharges.
• Serves as a resource/educator/consultant for patient/families/staff and the community.
• Evaluates and recommends new products, tools, etc. using best practice models, evidence-based materials and research.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Associate' degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience - Two (2) years L&D, Mom/Baby, lactation or related nursing experience.

• Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
• IBCLC required to obtain within 18 months
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred.
