Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology at Rochester General Hospital. Prerequisites include NYS RN licensure, BLS certification, and an ADN/ASN (BSN preferred) with prior nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • NY State RN license is required.
  • BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data.
  • Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.
  • Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including safety, medication administration and documentation.
  • Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
  • Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.

Common treatments include uterine fibroid embolization, kyphoplasty, tumor ablation, and targeted therapies like chemoembolization and thrombolysis. IR offers faster recovery, fewer risks, and innovative solutions for complex conditions.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical carePerforms initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient).Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation.Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.COMPLIANCE:Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner.Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma or Associate’s Degree in NursingRegistered Nurse license in New York State.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.At least 6 months experience preferredEDUCATION:AS: Nursing (Required)LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of ProfessionsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
