Job summary

The Staff Pad is hiring an IMCU RN in Wausau, WI to support a regional hospital’s high-acuity unit. This full-time role offers 12-hour day and night shifts with strong orientation and onboarding to help you grow in critical care.

You will provide comprehensive nursing care for complex patients, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and participate in advanced assessment and clinical decision-making to support patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin or eligibility through a compact license.
• BLS certification.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills.
• New graduate RNs are welcome to apply.
• Experienced RNs with med-surg, telemetry, step-down, progressive care, IMCU, ICU, critical care, or similar experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care.
• Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition.
• Assess, prioritize, and respond to evolving patient needs.
• Care for patients with complex medical, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and other members of the care team.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Develop and strengthen advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Educate patients and families throughout the care process.
