Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse at Lourdes Hospital to provide compassionate nursing care, assess patient status, and coordinate care across Med-Surg and ICU to ensure safe outcomes.

The role requires 1 year of RN experience (acute care preferred 6 months), RN licensure, and BSN is preferred but not required. ACLS/BLS per policy with ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an RN.
• BLS/ACLS: BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, plan of care, implement and evaluate treatment.
• Serve as primary contact for patients’ care coordination across hospital departments.
• Act as patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely per state practice and policies.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step down) – Lourdes Hospital

Job Summary

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Acting as the service line between Med‑Surg and ICU units
• Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the state of practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required)

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
