NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for opportunities across Oklahoma. This role supports medically complex and high-acuity patients in fast-paced facilities, with day and night shifts available and competitive hourly pay.

As an ICU RN, you will provide comprehensive care, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality critical care.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Oklahoma or Compact RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN, Diploma, or BSN accepted.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU/Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patient condition.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, and other critical clinical parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
  • Manage and monitor patients receiving ventilator, oxygen, and other respiratory support.
  • Monitor and manage patients receiving vasoactive medications, sedation, and pain-management therapies.
  • Care for patients with complex medical, surgical, neurological, cardiac, and respiratory conditions.
  • Monitor and maintain central lines, arterial lines, IV access, and other critical-care equipment as appropriate.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to clinical deterioration.
  • Assist with emergency interventions, rapid responses, and code situations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Educate and support patients and families as appropriate.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, staff education, and competency programs.
  • Maintain required clinical competencies and certifications.
  • Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.

About the Opportunity

NurseAmerica is building a talent pool of qualified Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Registered Nurses for current and upcoming opportunities with healthcare facilities across Oklahoma.

We are seeking experienced critical-care nurses who are confident caring for medically complex and high-acuity patients and who can work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments.

Position Summary

The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN monitors complex patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, recognizes changes in clinical status, and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, high-quality critical care.
