Job summary

Bon Secours Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient Surgery unit at Eastside. The role involves three 12-hour shifts (6:30am–7:00pm) Monday to Friday with an on-call rotation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive perioperative care.

We require an RN with an accredited nursing degree, active state licensure, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable. Two years in a critical care setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certification as required at hire.
• Two years RN experience in Critical Care (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
• Determine patient priorities and needs.
• Implement nursing interventions for acutely ill patients requiring intensive care.
• Develop and execute patient care plans to improve outcomes.
• Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and coordinate with the care team.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Surgery - St. Francis Eastside
Shift:

three 12 hour shifts Monday to Friday 6:30am - 7:00pm

On call rotation required

Job Summary:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment
• Observes the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient
• Responsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providers
• Provides pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructions
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on specific surgical department requirements)
• CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required)
• SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required)

Experience:

• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department (preferred, not required)
• Completion of OR internship program (preferred, not required)

Training:

• Successful completion of Peri-op 101 (preferred, not required)
