Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 9A Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. This full-time day shift offers a sign-on bonus of $7,500 for new grads or $15,000 for experienced nurses.

The RN will perform comprehensive nursing care, coordinate with therapists and the care team, and support patient goals, discharge planning and family education. ADN required; BSN preferred; VA license required.

Job Description

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Unit Description

9A is a 16-bed medical/surgical unit that specializes in rehabilitation. Our Nurses are able to gain skills in medical/surgical nursing to include physical assessments, IV therapy, central line care, pain management, provide proper skin, wound vac care, burn trauma care, medication administration, and also help develop goals of care with the interdisciplinary team. (physical, occupational, and speech therapists). We are looking for compassionate nurses to join our team that help can encourage and educate our patients to self-manage and prepare them for a smooth transition to their home setting and the community.

Education

• ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.

Certification

• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
