Job summary

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift. The position offers three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm with weekend rotation, and opportunities for clinical ladder salary increases up to 20% based on experience and advancement.

You will assess patients, develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team, administer medications, supervise nursing staff, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).
• Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).
• Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.
• Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries.
• Monitor patient lab work for trends and report abnormal results for necessary actions.
