Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a travel-certified nurse for our Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit in the Tuscaloosa, AL area. The CSICU handles adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care, with focus on post-operative recovery.

The role requires living within 50 miles of Tuscaloosa, AL, and working 36 hours weekly on a 3/12 shift pattern in on-site units.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cardiac Surgical ICU or CSICU required.
• Ability to work in high-acuity post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in CSICU and CSU units.
• Monitor post-operative cardiac patients.
• Coordinate with cardiovascular team.

Our Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is a four 4-bed unit that directs its resources principally towards the care of adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular and other surgical conditions requiring critical care located on 4 North. The care of these patients is primarily focused on post-operative recovery and providing complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Nurses must exhibit high levels of professional competency. CSU is an 8 bed stepdown unit. The stepdown unit focuses on the care and recovery of patients after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery. Both units are supported by a cardiovascular educator. Together we specialize in the patient centered approach to care. Our team is dedicated to making our patient’s experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe and secure environment.
