Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking an ICU RN for the Day shift at THR in Bedford, TX. This full-time, 36-hour weekly position supports a fast-paced 18-bed ICU with Trauma and Neurosurgical care, offering growth and collaboration with a dedicated care team.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license with an Associate Degree or Diploma, prefer BSN, and complete required certifications (BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI) within specified timelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
  • RN license required.
  • BSN preferred.
  • CLIAFE foreign education equivalency required.
  • BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care.
  • ACLS within 90 days.
  • NIHSS within 60 days of hire.
  • CPI within 90 days of hire.
  • 1 year of clinical nurse experience or RN residency completed.
  • Current ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
  • Assesses the patient.
  • Plans the care of the patient.
  • Intervenes as appropriate.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures.

Work hours: Full-time, Day Shift, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Here’s What You Need
  • Associate's Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • Current ICU experience strongly preferred
What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
