Job summary

NMC Health in Newton, KS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the Emergency Department. This part-time role supports high-acuity patient care with a focus on family-centered care and teamwork.

Shift is 6:45pm–7:15am. You will provide comprehensive nursing assessments, coordinate care, and collaborate with physicians to deliver evidence-based interventions in a fast-paced ED/ICU setting.

Qualifications

• ADN/BSN degree from ACEN/CCNE accredited school or nursing diploma required.
• Current RN licensure in Kansas.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• ACLS certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients, including comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care with teaching, counseling, and direct physical care.
• Evaluate patient responses and progress to adjust care plans.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Offer reassurance and support to families with empathy and professionalism.

In this role, you will:

Plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care, incorporating teaching, counseling, and direct physical care.

Evaluate patient responses and progress toward outcomes to adjust care plans accordingly.

Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Offer reassurance and support to families, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in every interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

• ADN/BSN degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing or diploma in nursing required

Licensure, registration and certification:

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kansas
• Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support
• Certification in Advance Cardiac Life Support recommended
