Job summary

Huntington Beach Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a demanding ICU environment. The role requires a valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications with critical care experience preferred.

You will collaborate with physicians, educate patients and families, and uphold patient privacy and safety standards. The ideal candidate has at least one year in acute care and a willingness to pursue CCRN and BSN if not already held.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and direct patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient’s clinical condition including monitoring, tests and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment; maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $49.39 to $66.39. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
