Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient-centered care during night shifts.

You will coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, monitor patients’ conditions, and respond swiftly to changes, while applying developmental knowledge for age-appropriate care. The role requires CT licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire or within orientation.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient-centered care.
• Coordinates patient care by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicates the patient’s clinical condition and responds quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span to provide age-appropriate care.
• Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice; reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing the nursing process, provides high quality direct and indirect patient –centered care.

Coordinates patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Communicates, as appropriate, the patient's clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served.

Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.

Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment with Hartford HealthCare in this role.

COMPETENCIES:

Must be able to effectively communicate verbally as well as in writing using the English language.

Possess basic computer skills.
