Worker Type: Regular

Pay Range: $27.75 - $41.25 per hour

Position Highlights

May be eligible for up to a $20,000 sign‑on bonus.

Overview

Work at the Avera Cancer Institute Hematology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy clinic. Coordinate patient care activities in the clinic, rooming, vitals, scheduling, assisting procedures and order entry. Triage phone calls from patients and caregivers routing to appropriate personnel if needed. Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm; 80 hrs/2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nursing care to patients and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
• Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
• Observe, record, and report patient condition and reactions to drugs and treatments.
• Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure patient preferences are accommodated, especially in emergency situations.
• Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination, screening, and nursing assessment.
• Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
• Suggest solutions to care crisis problems and complaints.
• Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials and ensure cleanliness.
• Ensure proper labeling of pathology specimens and perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license in the state of practice (upon hire).
• Ability to work the specified hours.
• Visual acuity adequate for job duties.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and meet physical and mental demands.
