Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the GI/Renal Unit, a 39-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in renal and gastrointestinal care. The RN will support patients and families with physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs, including Peritoneal Dialysis cases, end-stage kidney disease, and a range of non-surgical illnesses.

The role requires an RN license in Georgia, ADN or Diploma, and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience.
  • Basic computer skills to operate unit systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure appropriate care transitions.
  • Demonstrate professional practice using the nursing process to meet patient and family needs.
  • Delegate appropriately while maintaining accountability for care quality.
  • Communicate clearly with the healthcare team to support safety and patient satisfaction.

It is a medical/surgical unit designated to care for patients with renal and gastroenterological illnesses, as well as other general medical patients in times of high census. As the designated renal medical unit, their specialty is caring for patients that require Peritoneal Dialysis and is the preferred unit for these patients to be placed if clinically appropriate.
