Job summary

Spring Creek Care Center in Millcreek, UT is seeking an devoted registered nurse for full-time day shifts (6am–6pm) to join a supportive team serving geriatric residents with long-term and short-term needs.

You will administer medications, document treatments, ensure drug safety, and help train new nursing staff while upholding infection control and safety policies. Experience in geriatric care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language medical information.
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient mobility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing treatments on the medication/ treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs per facility policies
• Notify physician of medication/treatment issues and adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat; drugs stored properly and disposed
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing staff
• Practice infection control, universal precautions, and safety policies

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/tretment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/disposing
• Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred
