Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg 5W on the night shift. The role welcomes both new grads and experienced nurses, with a sign-on bonus program and opportunities to grow within a compassionate care environment.

Required are an accredited nursing degree, Missouri RN license (or compact), and BLS certification. Prior hospital experience is preferred; BSN is favored. The unit handles diverse medical conditions with strong teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through AHA or within 30 days of hire.
• Previous hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift:

Nights | 7:00PM-7:00AM

Sign-On Bonus:

About the Unit — Med Surg 5W

Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

QualificationsEducation:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:

• Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:

• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

• BSN preferred

• Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

Preferred QualificationsExperience:

• Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical RequirementsAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
