Job summary

Signature HealthCARE of Norfolk in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, medication administration, wound care, and skilled nursing procedures. You will supervise nursing staff, document thoroughly in EHR, and participate in care planning for residents.

The role requires an active RN license, CPR/BLS certification, and at least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

  • Current, active RN license in the state of practice.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical nursing experience; long-term care experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including medication administration, wound care, and skilled nursing procedures.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Supervise and direct nursing assistants and medication aides during the assigned shift in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and observe residents’ physical and emotional status; notify the attending physician and responsible party of any change in condition.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per facility policy and procedure.
  • Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges according to established procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, staff education, and regulatory surveys as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.

What you Will make a Difference

What you Need to make a Difference

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound clinical judgment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
