Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool to provide high-quality care across ICU/PCU, Med/Surg, ED and rehab settings. This FT position involves 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly, with every third weekend and holiday rotation.

The RN uses the nursing process from admission to discharge, mentors staff, and delivers education while managing patient loads within planned timelines.

Qualifications

  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire.
  • Two years bedside RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process from admission to discharge or transfer.
  • Provide expert care and patient education in clinical settings.
  • Act as patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel.
  • Manage patient loads within assigned timelines.
  • Utilize plan-of-care interventions and clinical procedures.

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool

Status/FTE: FT / 0.8 FTE

Shift length: 12 hours

Start Time: 1900

Unit: Adult Float Pool (ICU/PCU, Med/Surg, Extended stay, ED, Rehab)

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Three (3) 12-hour shifts weekly, every third weekend and holidays by rotation

Required qualifications:
  • Current state RN license
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • Two (2) years bedside RN experience
Preferred qualifications:
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care
  • Five (5) years bedside RN experience
Additional Information/Department information:

The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of patients from admission to department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in clinical setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.
