As a Flexible Acuity Unit Registered Nurse,you’ll reportto the Manager of Patient Care Services. Provides professional nursing services. Assesses the needs of patients and initiates, implements and evaluates individualized plans of care. Collaborates with other professional,clinicaland ancillary staff in providing quality care to patients.
Flexible Acuity Unit RN Job Responsibilities
Performs the priority (high risk, high frequency) technical procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally.
Establish and/or revise priorities for job/patient care activities based on the acuity of the need, resource availability, customer/patient preference/request, consideration of other department or staff priorities,timelinesand plans.
Respond to dataindicatingpotential or actual risk to an individual's physical or emotional health byinitiatingaction to correct, reduce or prevent the risk.
Advocate for the patient or family when necessary to achieveappropriate outcomes.
Maintain accountability for own and delegated actions and decisions.Basesactions and decisions on scientific principles/logic, successful experiences, intuition, standards of practice/protocols, and organizational values.
Seek supervision, consultation, orassistancewhen unable to perform effectively or safely independently
Use internal and/or external resources to resolve and/or prevent problems that cannot be managed independently.
Develop or revise a plan of care for assigned patients based oninitialand ongoing data. Includes measurable goals/outcomes; reflects the values, preferences and limitations of patients and/or family members;identifiesinterventions to achieve outcomes/goals; addresses pertinent physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and learning problems/needs.
Initiate ormaintaininterventions toassurecontinuity of safe and effective care for patients across the entire continuum of care.
Modify,continueordiscontinueinterventions, goals, ortimeframes, according to evaluation of effectiveness,efficiencyand/or patient satisfaction.
Document, consistently and within established guidelines, assessments, interventions, actions, data collectionresultsand outcomes of interventions.
Useinterpersonal communication strategies with all members of the team in order to achieve desirable and acceptable outcomes or responses and perception of satisfaction by those involved.
Delegates to other staff members based upon acuity/complexity of need, roledefinition,and ability to perform, and the collective needs of patients, families,andtheunit. Maintains accountability for achievingappropriate outcomes/goalsassociated with delegated acts.
Maintain awareness of advances in clinical specialty.
Contributes to the department's ability to achieve andmaintainclinical excellence, customer-focused service excellence, fiscal responsibility, innovative and talented people, and the best place to work.

What You Bring
You bringa high levelof knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments,treatment,and techniques. As a Registered Nurse, your advanced analytical skillsare necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. Youdemonstratethe interpersonal skills necessary toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors,physicians,and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.The RN understands the need to be responsive andreasonably adaptablefor scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.
Required Qualifications
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) isrequired. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
Candidates hired after January 1, 2014, must have or obtain a BSN within five (5) years of employment as a Registered Nurse or will have theoptionto become certified in their area of specialty. The certification must bemaintainedbasedonaccrediting body standards.
