Job summary

Desert Care Network is seeking an experienced RN II for the Emergency Department in Southern California. The role covers total nursing care, triage and care for diverse ED patients, with supervision of RN l's, ED Techs and CNAs. The position supports professional accountability and quality initiatives.

Shift is nights (1900-0730) with a 6 shifts/2 week cycle; some weekends required. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is offered and compensation includes benefits and career development

Qualifications

• Current California RN license maintained at all times.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association PALS certification.
• Current NIHSS certificate.
• Successful completion of EKG test.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care for ED patients including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Oversee ED RN l's, ED Techs and CNAs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers and physicians; participate in Performance Improvement activities.

Hours: 1900-0730

Schedule: 6 shifts per two week pay period. Some weekends required.

Position Summary

The RN II: Assumes principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Emergency Department patient populations. Independently anticipates professional responsibilities and accepts accountability for professional actions. The RN II uses critical thinking skills both in triage and in providing care for all categories and types of Emergency Department Patients. Oversees RN l's, ED Tech's and CNA's. Uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians and participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.

Job Responsibilities

• 1-2 years of ER experience
• Current California Registered Nurse License (maintained at all times).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current NIHSS Certificate.
• Successful completion of EKG Test.
• Successful mastery of nursing skills and knowledge related to a RN I position
• Basic Computer Skills

• ED Triage Course
• ENPC and TNCC (within 12 months of hire)
• PHTLS (within six (6) months of obtaining MICN Certification)
• CPI Certification every 2 years
• CEN Certification within 18 months of hire - Preferred

Compensation

• $48.61 - $48.61 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
