Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on the night shift. The role emphasizes clinical assessment, care planning, and patient advocacy in a 14-bed ER setting.

The position offers sign-on bonus eligibility and requires RN licensure with BLS; ACLS/PALS within designated timelines. Experience with emergency care is preferred, alongside teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• HWC within 6 months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines and with transfer or discharge needs.
• Advocates for patient well-being and supports family members.

The Emergency Room (ER) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 14-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. How you'll contribute

You’ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Works with patients’ families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. Handle with care (HWC) within 6 months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
