Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in alignment with ANA Nursing Scope and Standards. Responsibilities include assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, planning and implementing care, and evaluating outcomes.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and adherence to professional ethics. Requires CA RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIHSS, and hospital orientation. Night shifts with a 7.00 shift differential are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid California RN license with ongoing CEUs every two years.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with critical intervention skills, ideally in ED.
• Formal hospital orientation completed.
• Annual non-violent crisis intervention training.

Provide a full range of nursing practice guided by the American Nursing Association’s (ANA)Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and dependent upon experience, role, and population served. Primary nursing responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. Standards of professional performance required include quality practice, education/competency, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, and ethics, research/best practice integration, resource utilization and leadership (ANA, 2004). Required Experience

Required:

• Valid California RN License with evidence of continuing education 30 units per two years
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

• Formal hospital orientation
• Non-violent crisis intervention training annually
