Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking an Experienced RN for our Emergency Department. This 41-bed Level III Trauma ED treats about 150 patients daily and offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified experienced RNs. ADN is required; BSN preferred; Virginia or compact RN license in good standing.

• Support throughput by caring for about 150 patients per day and collaborating with ED staff.

The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.Department/Position Overview:This is a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with 6 beds dedicated to a lock down psychiatric screening and treatment area. We are a stroke certified ED and receive STEMI and psychiatric patients. The ED treats about 150 patients per day with a dedicated radiology suite in the ED for plain film and CT imaging.
