Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a licensed RN for a PRN Day shift to provide high-quality patient care. You will conduct comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 1+ year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Active RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments spanning physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reassessing and revising as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments following orders and protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families to promote understanding and adherence to care plans.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.

Job Description:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS [Required]

Pay Range: $31.85 - $52.76
