Job summary

UC Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) for the second shift at West Chester Hospital.

The RN will support the ED and Level III Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care based on assessed needs and established standards of care and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current OH RN License.
  • 2 years ED or ICU/CCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient with the healthcare team.
  • Communicates plan of care to all levels of staff involved in the patient's care.
  • Provides clear instructions to patients/families regarding treatment and continued care.
  • Addresses behavioral health or cultural concerns affecting patient care.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and teamwork to meet unit needs.
  • Documents nursing process accurately and concisely per policy.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for staff on the unit.
  • Supports personal and professional development of self and peers.

UC Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) for the second shift at West Chester Hospital.

The Emergency Department Nurse will support West Chester Hospital's emergency room (ER) and Level III Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age specific.

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
  • Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
  • Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.
