Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department team. This 41-bed Level III Trauma ED treats about 150 patients daily and offers a 7a-7p weekend shift with a $7,500 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs.

The RN will perform nursing care following the nursing process, collaborate with trauma and ED teams, and support stroke and STEMI care in a Magnet hospital known for nursing excellence.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• RN experienced in a hospital setting; ED experience highly preferred.

The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.Department/Position Overview:This is a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with 6 beds dedicated to a lock down psychiatric screening and treatment area. We are a stroke certified ED and receive STEMI and psychiatric patients. The ED treats about 150 patients per day with a dedicated radiology suite in the ED for plain film and CT imaging. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.
