is a state-of-the-art, 22-bed Level 3 Trauma unit that opened to the public in 2014. The ED handles critically ill patients and other emergency medical issues, including OB/GYN, geriatric, and medical-surgical including bariatric, orthopedic, oncology, and stroke patients. The majority of ED nurses at Magee are trained to perform forensic exams for sexual assault as well. Patient volume and acuity are variable and can change quickly, making the ED an extremely fast-paced, unpredictable environment where rapid problem-solving is necessary to address evolving needs and priorities.
The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
As a Professional Staff Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. At all times, you will exemplify a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. Our shifts are from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a. This role will work rotating holidays and weekends. *Hours and travel are subject to change based on business needs.
