Job summary

Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, Oregon, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PCH Emergency Department. You will provide safe, age-appropriate direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process and operate within the Oregon State Board of Nursing scope of practice.

ACLS, TNCC and PALS certifications are required within six months of hire; prior ED experience is preferred, and CEN is welcomed.

Salary Range Salary Range: $55.53 - $85.29

*Starting bonus and/or relocation available to new employees. Previous experience may be required. Employment commitment to Samaritan is required.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Emergency Department provides care for patients with a wide variety of needs from non-critical to emergent medical conditions including emergent and urgent mental health care. All patients are welcome whether walking in or arriving by emergency transport. All Emergency Department staff are certified to care for critical cardiac and trauma patients including children.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
PCH Emergency:

ACLS, TNCC and PALS required within six (6) months of hire.

Previous ED nurse experience preferred, will train qualified RN depending on level of previous acute care experience and hospital need.

CEN preferred.

Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
