Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking an RN with cardiac telemetry expertise to join a focused team. The role emphasizes coordinating care across disciplines and implementing patient-centered care plans.

The ideal candidate has ED/ICU or Cardiology RN experience, Connecticut RN licensure, and BLS certification. Shift pattern includes 9–11 hour days, four shifts per week, with no weekends or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

  • Cardiac telemetry knowledge and RN experience in ED/ICU or Cardiology are required.
  • Ability to coordinate care across disciplines and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Must maintain CT RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care per policies and protocols.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Implement and monitor care plans and discharge planning.

Location Detail: St Vincents Medical Center (10427)

Shift Detail: Monday- Friday 4 shifts per week, alternating 9hr and 11hr shifts starting at 6am. No weekends, holidays, or on call required.

Ideal candidate will have a cardiac background with extensive orientation and telemetry knowledge. RNs with experience from ED, ICU or Cardiology a must.

Job Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies,procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs in order to provide individualized care to the patient.
  • Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their level of education and expertise in order to meet patients' needs and to maximize staff performance.
  • Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds. Demonstrates knowledge of patients' condition and is able to provide appropriate input to meet desired outcomes for the appropriate patient population.
  • Reflects ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015), and ANA Social Policy Statement (2015).
  • Develops, implements and revises individualized plans of care.
  • Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Current Connecticut RN license
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU, ED, "intra-procedure nurse", cardiology RN experience a must.
  • Must commit to passing the orientation process full-time until sign off.
