Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's ED Observation Unit in Winston-Salem is seeking an RN for night shifts in a Level I trauma center setting. The unit supports 20–24 beds and a multidisciplinary team delivering emergency care to adults and children.

The role requires an accredited nursing program, RN license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and ideally 2 years of RN experience. This full-time position offers benefits and a 36-hour week with 3 nights and every third weekend.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program

Where You Will Work

The ED Observation Unit at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is hybrid unit for our Level I adult and pediatric trauma center that provides emergency healthcare for all types of injuries and illnesses, from life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks or strokes to flu and viral illnesses. The unit consists of 20-24 beds. Our team consists of more than 30 board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, experienced emergency nurses, sexual assault nurse examiners, forensic nurse examiners, social workers, case managers and other specially trained staff. The Emergency Department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Medical Center is not only one of the first Emergency Medicine training programs in the country but continues to create the future of emergency care through patient care research and resident education.

Expectations We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
  • 2 years of RN experience preferred

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
