Job summary

Tenet Desert is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ED in La Quinta, California. This RN II role oversees patient care in the Emergency Department, plans and evaluates nursing care, and ensures triage and patient safety. Requires CA RN license and 1–2 years of ER experience, with BLS/ACLS/PALS active.

Shifts are Nights (1900-0730), full-time, with 6 shifts per two-week period and some weekends required. A Sign-On bonus up to $25,000 is offered for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse License (RN)
• 1–2 years of ER experience
• Current BLS certification (maintained at all times)
• Current ACLS certification (maintained at all times)
• Current PALS certification (maintained at all times)
• NIHSS certification
• Successful completion of EKG test
• RN I level nursing skills and knowledge
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for ED patients.
• Triage and care for all ED patient categories and types.
• Supervise RN L's, ED Techs and CNAs; maintain effective communication with patients, families and physicians.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

PositionSummary:

The RN II: Assumes principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Emergency Department patient populations. Independently anticipates professional responsibilities and accepts accountability for professional actions. The RN II uses critical thinking skills both in triage and in providing care for all categories and types of Emergency Department Patients. Oversees RN l's, ED Tech's and CNA's. Uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians and participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.

1. Current California Registered Nurse License (maintained at all times).
2. 1-2 years of ER experience
3. Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintained at all times).
4. Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (maintained at all times).
5. Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (maintained at all times).
6. Current NIHSS Certificate.
7. Successful completion of EKG Test.
8. Successful mastery of nursing skills and knowledge related to a RN I position
