Job summary

West Anaheim Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a day shift in an acute-care hospital. The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and provide patient and family teaching while coordinating with physicians and the care team.

Candidates must hold a California RN license; BLS/ACLS certifications are required; BSN is preferred. At least one year of acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and maintained.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results; respond quickly to changes in condition.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current valid State Registered Nurse License.


• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.


• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.


• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.


• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.


• Minimum of one-year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.


• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $53.12 to $71.40. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
