Job summary

St. Elizabeth HealthCare in Crestview Hills, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical support to physicians and care teams.

You will guide patients per provider directions, ensure HIPAA/OSHA/CLIA compliance, and perform duties essential to operations. What you’ll do includes charting, patient education, completing forms for revenue cycles, coordinating referrals, and maintaining exam rooms with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered multistate RN license (NLC) in KY, IN or OH.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient history and prep for exam.
• Provide patient care with clear directions and address concerns.
• Ensure forms for revenue cycle are completed and accurate.
• Give patient instructions under provider direction.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient charts.
• Restock and organize supplies in exam rooms.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
• Perform equipment cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization.
• Comply with OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with patient requests and referrals as needed.
• Support scheduling and precertification workflows.
• Filing and distribution of patient information timely.
• Interact with Central Billing Office to resolve issues.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the RN provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The RN provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The RN is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations and ensuring completion of all duties vital to business operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• 1. Document in chart the appropriate patient history and prepare patient for exam.
• 2. Provide patient care by giving clear direction to the patient, address patient concerns about the exam. Document appropriately in-patient chart.
• 3. Ensure completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle (i.e. verification/clarification of orders, waivers for non- covered services, encounter form).
• 4. Provide instructions to patient under direction of the provider(s).
• 5. Ensure complete and accurate information in patient chart.
• 6. Maintain adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and workstation.
• 7. Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
• 8. Perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or sterilization of equipment and instruments. Report malfunction of equipment to appropriate supervisor.
• 9. OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA compliance.
• 10.Assist with completion of patient requests.
• 11.Completion of referral process/outpatient test scheduling, and precertification.
• 12.Timely and accurate filing/distribution of all patient information.
• 13.Interact with Central Billing Office as needed to resolve patient issues.
• 14.Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• 1. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• 2. Ability to learn other computer skills.
• 3. Must have good organizational skills and work professionally with doctors, hospital administration and management, SEP employees and the public.
• 4. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Active, unencumbered multistate (compact) RN nursing license issued by a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state, specifically Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

6 months to 1-year experience preferred.
