Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for per diem shifts. You will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with physicians to monitor patient status.

Candidates must hold an active California RN license, BLS certification, and NHISS stroke scale certification; ICU/ventilator experience and a BSN are preferred. This per diem role offers variable shifts and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License is required.
• BLS (AHA) certification upon hire is required.
• NHISS (Stroke Scale) certification within 60 days of hire is required.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care and guide patient/family teaching while maintaining standards of care in the Custody Unit; communicate with physicians about patient changes.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Custody Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Pay Transparency

Paradise Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and the current compensation range for this role is $60.00 to $60.00. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
