RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CTICU C-4 Cardiothoracic Unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role emphasizes teamwork, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

Qualified candidates hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS (within 120 days), and preferably CCRN, with at least 2 years in critical care. Full-time day shifts, with weekends/holidays rotation, are available in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification; ACLS within 120 days; CCRN preferred.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Critical Care Nursing, ICU or ED.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients and families.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes; intervene and advocate.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers to support timely care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record for continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and collaborative care transitions.
• Support ongoing professional growth and teamwork in a high-acuity environment.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire and ACLS must be completed within 120 days of hire and CCRN preferred. An Associate Science in Nursing degree is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum 2 years’ experience in Critical Care Nursing, ICU or ED is highly preferred. Must be comfortable with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Full-time day shift 7a-7:30p 36 hours per week. Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation allows you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
