Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Critical Care to deliver direct nursing care at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. The role centers on neuro‑critical, heart and vascular, and surgical oncology settings.

The Per Diem, Day shift position requires an Associate degree (BSN preferred) and CT RN license with BLS. Two years of relevant experience is preferred, and duties include care planning, interdisciplinary coordination, and discharge planning support.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Experience: Medical-Surgical/Critical Care exposure preferred.
• License: CT RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients' needs.
• Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care.
• Participate in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.
