Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• ACLS and BLS (may receive after hire).

Responsibilities

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient with the healthcare team and family.
• Communicates the plan of care to all levels of staff involved in the patient's care and sets priorities based on assessment needs.
• Provides clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment and involves them in care decisions.
• Addresses behavioral health needs, unique psychological needs, and religious/cultural considerations in care.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude on the unit.
• Documents the nursing process accurately and concisely per hospital policy and procedures.
• Serves as a resource and mentor for new personnel, floater, or supplemental staff on the unit.
• Pursues personal professional development and contributes to peers’ growth.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN-CNI) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific .

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
• Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
• Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
• Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
• Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
• Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Associate's degree is required. Bachelor's preferred
• Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
• ACLS and BLS (may receive after hire)
