Current Ohio RN license with BLS/ACLS/PALS and BSN preferred; comprehensive onboarding includes a clinical ladder and unit projects with potential monetary benefits.

Qualificações

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred for this role.
• Current Ohio RN license is required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements based on patient population needs.
• NCI-APS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
• Communicates plan of care to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care and prioritizes care based on assessment needs.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment and involves family/guardian in ongoing care.
• Identifies and responds to behavioral health needs and cultural considerations.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, and a cooperative attitude in meeting unit needs.
• Nursing process documented accurately per hospital policy; contributes to professional development of peers.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for new personnel and temporary staff on the unit.

Qualifications

• For employees working in UCMC Psychiatric Services, NCI-APS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills) Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
• Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
• Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
• Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
• Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
• Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.
