Position Summary

This position is open only to licensed Registered Nurses (RNs). Applicants must possess a current, active, unrestricted RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree in nursing. Candidates who do not meet these minimum qualifications will not be considered.

The Nursing College Clinical Site Liaison is responsible for managing the practicum experiences (both direct supervision and preceptorships) for our Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse programs. The Nursing College Clinical Site Liaison will actively promote the mission, policies, and procedures of the institution while preserving professional relationships with each clinical facility.

The primary responsibilities of the Nursing College Clinical Site Liaison include, but are not limited to, the management of clinical relationships, oversight and coordination of clinical experience schedules, conducting observational visits to clinical facilities, interfacing with preceptors and facility representatives, and reporting all events associated with clinical experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clinical Relationship Management
  • Manage and develop clinical relationships with Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs), Directors of Nursing (DONs), and other healthcare administrators.
  • Secure new clinical sites to support student learning experiences.
  • Maintain existing clinical partnerships and contracts.
  • Clinical Planning and Coordination
  • Oversee and coordinate clinical experiences for Practical Nurse (PN) and Registered Nurse (RN) students.
  • Collaborate with Program Chairs in planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical experiences.
  • Schedule relief coverage for clinical instructors in coordination with Program Chairs when needed.
  • Conduct observational visits to clinical sites to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
  • Faculty, Student, and Preceptor Support
  • Develop and implement orientation programs for clinical faculty, students, and clinical facilities regarding practicum policies and procedures.
  • Mentor new clinical instructors during their first clinical rotation.
  • Conduct debriefings with preceptors before and throughout clinical experiences.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the college and clinical facilities.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Collect, review, and audit preceptor and clinical documentation.
  • Audit and verify student medical and compliance documents.
  • Report and document events associated with clinical experiences.
  • Maintain an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license throughout employment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree in nursing required.
  • Previous supervisory, leadership, educational, or other relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Professional, outgoing, approachable, and passionate about helping others succeed.
  • Exceptional listening, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in nursing education or clinical education.
  • Experience coordinating student clinical placements or preceptorships.
  • Experience developing relationships with healthcare organizations and clinical partners.
  • Experience mentoring clinical instructors or nursing staff.
