Advocate Health's Aurora Medical Center - Summit in Summit, WI seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to deliver comprehensive patient care in a high-volume lab.

You’ll work with a team of RNs, technologists, cardiologists, and anesthesiologists in a 3-room lab, handling STEMI/EP cases and on-call rotations with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the practicing state.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • ACLS certification or within 6 months.
  • Cath lab experience preferred; otherwise 2+ years in ED/ICU/post-surgical.
  • BSN preferred.

  • 1.0 FTE

  • Hours are typically Monday -Friday 0730-1600, sometimes 0600-1430 if cases start earlier.

  • Weeknight call-1-2 days Monday-Thursday 1600-0730

  • Weekend call, every 4th weekend (Fri-Sun)

  • Holiday call-2 per year rotation

  • Must be flexible to orientate at Aurora Grafton and/or Aurora St Lukes

Where You Will Work:

This department offers a dynamic, patient-centered work environment focused on cardiac and peripheral procedures, including STEMI and EP cases. The department has 3 procedure rooms and the team is comprised of RNs, cardiovascular technologists, cardiologists, and anesthesiologists, working collaboratively in a growing lab. The Cath lab offers an appealing choice for those seeking meaningful patient care, professional growth in a growing procedural area.

We’re Looking For:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.

  • Previous RN Cath lab experience will be highly preferred. If we consider candidates without Cath experience, must have 2+ years of experience working in ED, ICU, or post-surgical unit.

  • BSN preferred

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. Must safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers. Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures, as well as the ability to operate equipment foot controls. Must be able to respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used. Physical Abilities Testing and additional department-specific requirements may apply.
