Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cardiac Stepdown unit. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers, supporting pre-operative and post-operative needs.

You will assess patients at admission and each shift, perform procedures, document care, administer medications, and stay current on cardiac and medical-surgical practices.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• NH RN license is required to practice in New Hampshire.
• Associate Degree in Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the provider.
• Document care provided in the patient record in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• New Hampshire (RN) Registered Nurse license required
• Associate Degree of Nursing required
