• Act as supervisor by delegating tasks, assessing care quality, and participating in hourly rounding.
• Monitor patient safety, observe work practices, and serve as shift supervisor when needed.
• Provide age-specific bedside nursing care using the nursing process and patient-centered goals.
• Support discharge planning per hospital protocols.

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab provides expert nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinating care plans with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety needs, updating on an ongoing basis.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments, patient input, and procedural complexities.
• Implement and evaluate nursing and medical orders, ensuring appropriateness to patient status.
• Act as a supervisor by delegating tasks, assessing care quality, and participating in hourly rounding.
• Monitor patient safety, observe work practices, and may serve as shift supervisor when needed.
• Provide age-specific, direct bedside nursing care, utilizing the nursing process and patient-centered goals.
• Perform tasks assigned by hospital protocols and support patient discharge planning.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current RN license in the state of practice, CPR, and ACLS certifications as applicable.
• Effective interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, and strong customer service abilities.
• Basic computer skills required.

Preferred & Additional Requirements

• BSN degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of current Level III NICU experience or relevant acute care background; new graduates considered.
• Specialty certifications such as NRP, Wound/Ostomy, or bariatrics are advantageous.
• Additional certifications like PALS or ENPC may be required depending on the department.
