Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking an RN for Special Procedures in Interventional Radiology – Angiography. This part-time benefited role is scheduled for 40 hours bi-weekly (.5 FTE) with day shifts and a 6:30 am–5:30 pm weekday operation. The unit uses 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratios.

Call coverage is mandatory, with average call requirements of weeknights and every 7th weekend. Nurses rotate across modalities including Angiography.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Nursing License is required.
• BSN degree preferred; must obtain BSN within five years from date of hire.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and sedate the patient as needed, chart the case, and educate the patient on discharge instructions.
• Pre-procedure assessment including allergies, medications, lab values, and pre-procedure meds (e.g., antibiotics).
• Rotate through radiology modalities including Angiography, Neuro Intervention, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.

What You Will Do

• The Nurses' responsibility is to monitor and possibly sedate the patient, chart the entire case, and educate the patient on discharge instructions.
• The Nurse must ensure that the patient has been prepped appropriately for their procedure by assessing patient’s allergies, medications, lab values and giving pre procedure medications as appropriate such as antibiotics.
• Nurses will rotate through all radiology modalities including Angiography, Neuro Intervention, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
• Those with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) or ER (Emergency Room) are encouraged to apply.
