Job summary

West Jefferson Medical Center, part of LCMC Health, is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for our 28-bed Medical Surgical unit focusing on geriatric patients and isolation precautions. Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Prioritize and coordinate care for assigned patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the care team.
• Safely perform nursing procedures following established standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other team members.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities as appropriate.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Deliver effective handoffs to promote continuity of care.
• Maintain safety and HIPAA compliance; infection prevention.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Support teammates and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Continue developing your nursing knowledge and skills.
