Job summary

Novant Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit (10th Floor) at NHRMC in Wilmington, NC. You will provide direct adult patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, thorough assessments, and discharge planning to support recovery. A NC RN license and BLS are required or equivalent; 1 year of acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Current valid North Carolina nursing license (RN) or Multi-State/Compact license is required.
• One year of medical-surgical or acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical diagnoses.
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and monitor patients throughout their hospitalization.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, rehabilitation services, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge planning to support successful recovery.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene promptly to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Current valid North Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact license

One year of medical-surgical or acute care nursing experience preferred
