Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent’s Academic Med-Surg 6MAIN unit is seeking a skilled RN to contribute to high-quality patient care and clinical education. The role offers a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow clinical skills and leadership abilities.

You will care for a broad adult medical/surgical population, relying on evidence-based practice and teamwork to ensure exceptional patient experiences. The unit emphasizes assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Our Academic Med-Surg 6MAIN unit that blends high-quality patient care with hands‑on clinical education, giving nurse the chance to grow both their skills and their confidence. We care for a wide variety of adult medical and surgical patients, providing a strong foundation in clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork. It's a supportive, fast paced environment where nurses are encouraged to learn, lead and thrive.

Primary Patient Population (60%)
  • General medical patients requiring acute care
  • Adult medical patients with multiply co-morbidities
Secondary Patient Population (40%)
  • Post-operative surgical patients
We’reLooking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

About This Location

Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic medical center, nationally-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, Magnet ® hospital for nursing, and serves a service area of 30 counties and a population of nearly 750,000 persons. MCNH has over 4,500 employees and a medical staff of approximately 700 physicians. As the second largest hospital in Georgia, it is licensed for 637 beds, including pediatrics, medical surgical, trauma and cardiac surgery.
