Froedtert Health is seeking a Staff RN-Inpatient for the Spinal/General Rehab unit at our Bluemound Rehab facility in Wisconsin. You will assess and manage care for mainly adult patients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in inpatient nursing, BSN preferred, and current Wisconsin RN license or compact license are required. BLS is mandatory within 90 days of hire; strong clinical and communication skills are expected.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: None. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

• All newly hired or transferred RNs who do not hold a BSN (or higher nursing degree) and have less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN (or higher nursing degree) program within 15 months of hire or transfer into a Graduate Nurse or Registered Nurse role. The program must be completed within five (5) years of enrollment. This requirement does not apply to non-BSN hires who already hold a bachelor's or graduate degree in a field other than nursing.
• Direct-entry BSN or MSN students who have not yet completed their nursing degree at the time of hire are not exempt, even if they hold bachelor's or graduate degrees in another field.
• RNs who enroll in an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing program may meet this requirement through that program. If a BSN is awarded as part of the program, it must be completed within five (5) years of enrollment. If no BSN is awarded, the MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing must be completed within six (6) years of enrollment.

EDUCATION PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. TRAINING REQUIRED: None. TRAINING PREFERRED: None. SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: None. SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED: None. LICENSURE REQUIRED: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. LICENSURE PREFERRED: None.
