Job summary

Citadel Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Sterling facility on full-time schedules. You’ll provide licensed nursing care to residents, perform vital signs, IV and respiratory support, and document care while keeping the environment safe and compliant.

Strong communication, flexibility, and infection-control knowledge are essential. A nursing degree and current RN license are required, with LTC experience preferred; sign-on bonus of $3,000 is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

  • Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice as an RN in the state.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay calm under stress.
  • Adaptable to a flexible schedule and possible overnight travel.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and HIPAA policies.
  • Experience with basic computer applications (MS Office).
  • Interest in caring for short- and long-term elderly residents.
  • Prior long-term care exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide licensed care to residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with standards.
  • Maintain clean, safe treatment areas and resident rooms.
  • Take vital signs, administer IV therapy as licensed, and provide respiratory care.
  • Document nursing notes reflecting care and resident responses.
  • Ensure environments are free from accidents and hazards; address risks promptly.
  • Coordinate with non-licensed staff to meet professional standards of care.
  • Communicate with residents, families, physicians and staff as required.
  • Ensure care plans are implemented and consider changes with the IDT.

Job description

We are offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for full-time Registered Nurses joining our Second or Third Shift teams!

The Citadel of Sterling is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team! As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will be assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for or a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations

  • Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

  • Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy to residents as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care, e.g. oxygen, nebulizer treatments.

  • Charts nurses notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided aswell as the resident’s response to the care.

  • Ensures the resident’s environment is as free from accidents and hazards. Immediately corrects/addresses potential safety risks as prudent and warranted.

  • Monitors and directs non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care

  • Communicate/report information to residents, resident families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by facility policy and State/Federal guidelines.

  • Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained. Make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.

  • Ensures compliance with infection control standards. Immediately corrects/addresses identified instances of non-compliance.

  • Follows and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliance.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

Registered Nurse(RN) Qualifications and Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

  • Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with short and long-term care residents and the elderly.

  • Meets all health requirements, as required by law.

  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Microsoft Office version 1997, 2000 or XP, MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, E-mail, Outlook, Internet Explorer.

Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience:
  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.

  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

  • Long-Term care experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.

  • Meet all health requirements as needed.
