Responsibilities

• Knowledge of nursing practices and laws governing nursing in long-term care.
• Make independent decisions when warranted.
• Demonstrate leadership; supervise professional and non-professional staff.
• Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret Nursing department programs, goals, policies and procedures.
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Deliver basic nursing care to residents competently.
• Evaluate resident needs through ongoing assessment and revise care plans accordingly.
• Provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs.
• Chart accurately and promptly.
• Maintain dependable attendance.
• Concentrate, think clearly and use good judgment.
• Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in residents’ conditions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess resident condition.
• Modify resident treatment plans as indicated by responses and conditions.
• Coordinate with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans.
• Monitor all aspects of resident care, including diet and physical activity.
• Educate residents and families on health education and disease prevention.
• Prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments and supplies, and maintain stock of supplies.
• Assist in the evacuation of residents.

• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
